Charitable Giving Program

Small Dog Electronics believes that giving back to the community (both local and global) is an integral part of our business. Our Charitable Contribution Program fosters these initiatives through web-based donation matching, direct donations to charitable organizations and by encouraging employee volunteerism.

Our Program

Donation Matching

Donation Matching

We want to make your charitable contribution go even further! Small Dog customers who purchase via our website have the opportunity to donate up to $200 to several different “pet charities” selected by our Charitable Giving Committee. We will match your contribution, doubling the gift to your selected charity. (The maximum matching amount is $200 and we will match donations up to our set annual level of charitable giving.)

How It Works
  • First, we match customer contributions on our website
  • Then we direct the donations to organizations in need
  • Finally, we encourage employee volunteerism

We contribute over $10,000 per year to our “pet charities” which are reviewed periodically. To be considered for inclusion on our web site, email Don Mayer (Don@smalldog.com).

Direct Donations

Direct Donations

Small Dog Electronics responds to requests for charitable contributions from organizations that fit any of the following criteria:

  • Involved with work to improve the environment
  • Provide support for gay/lesbian/transgender issues including AIDS research
  • Provide support for children’s and women’s issues including protecting the rights of reproductive freedom
  • Work for human rights, especially in Third World countries
  • Animal rescue groups

Requests must be made in writing to the committee and are reviewed periodically through the year. Please make your request via email, providing as much information as you can about your cause. We will require confirmation of non-profit status. Send email to Don@smalldog.com. Requests are reviewed periodically through out the year.

Employee Volunteerism

Employee Volunteerism

Every Small Dog Employee is encouraged to donate their time to help their community. This volunteerism is at the employee’s discretion and involves a paid day away from work. Examples of community service include: teaching technology classes at local schools, volunteering at a humane society, and web design services for non-profits.

Small Dog employees have donated over 500 hours of community service work, ranging from our local schools and libraries to Vermont Food Shelf, Special Olympics and Adaptive Ski Program. Interested parties in need of volunteers should email Don@smalldog.com with your request.
