Macintosh Consultant | Vermont

Location: Burlington, VT & surrounding areas
Status: Full-Time Exempt/Salaried
Reports to: Vice President

Basic Description

Macintosh Consultant provides business and home users with Apple/Macintosh iPhone, iPod touch and iPad technical support onsite, online and in our stores. Consultants do everything from new machine setups and data migrations to hands-on training and group classes to business server and network solutions. As a Google Apps for Business reseller, we also specialize in migrating clients to Google Apps and supporting existing Apps customers. In this critical role, you'll create outstanding experiences for our customers. The right candidate will be a potential strong representative of Small Dog Electronics to the public!

We are looking for a trustworthy, friendly person with a wide range of technical knowledge who can solve problems and connect with our customers during the process.

This full-time position is eligible to participate in Small Dog Electronics' comprehensive benefits programs.

Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Technical knowledge of Apple hardware and software, preferably experience with OS X Server.
  • Detail Oriented.
  • Strong communication and excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Experience in technical consulting for consumers and businesses.
  • Bachelors Degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
  • Wired and wireless networking experience.
  • Good working, hands-on, knowledge of general IT concepts, basic laptop/desktop repair, software troubleshooting.
  • Experience teaching one-on-one and group sessions preferable.
  • Experience with Google Apps for Business preferable.
  • 1-2 years previous experience servicing Mac/Apple products preferred.
  • Experience with Windows XP/Vista/7/Server and Linux/Unix a plus.
  • Experience with Active Directory/Exchange a plus.
  • Valid drivers license, clean driving record, and vehicle required.
Note:

Current Apple certifications are a plus but not mandatory.

We are willing to train the right individual and cover the expenses of certification. The employee will be required to achieve Macintosh Integrated Basics Certification (MIB), Apple Certified Support Professional (ACSP) and Apple Certified Technical Coordinator (ACTC) certifications within the first year of employment. The employee will also be encouraged to complete Google Apps for Business Sales and Deployment certification. Other training opportunities will be made available as initial certifications are achieved.


Apple Certified Mac Technician | Vermont

Location: Rutland, S. Burlington & Waitsfield, VT
Status: Hourly, Full-Time
Reports to: Service Manager

Qualifications/Requirements:

AS Degree in relevant field preferred with 2 years technical experience working with computer hardware/software repair. Must possess good critical thinking skills essential for troubleshooting hardware and software issues. Strong communication and customer service skills are essential to the success of this position. Good working, hands-on, knowledge of general IT concepts, basic laptop/desktop repair, software installation.

Preferred Qualifications:

BS degree in related field. 1 - 2 years previous experience servicing Mac/Apple products. Current Apple Certifications; i.e. ACMT, etc. Previous bench tech experience strongly desired.

Basic Function and Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for performing basic to advanced troubleshooting and repair of both desktop and laptop Macintosh systems including repairs of motherboard, LCD, hardware, keyboard, power and basic parts and software installation

Requires use of excellent time management, multi-tasking, deductive reasoning, strong verbal and good written communication skills

This position works diectly with customers and ensures an excellent customer experience, resolves complaints, and leads by example to provide optimum customer service.

Receiving and tracking of customer repairs in standard tracking software documentation program. Check-in and check-out service tickets.

Diagnose and resolve customer issues quickly and accurately.


Retail/Phone Sales Associate | Vermont

Location: S. Burlington & Waitsfield, VT
Status: Hourly, Full-Time
Reports to: Retail Store Manager

BASIC DESCRIPTION:

We're seeking a friendly, dynamic Apple enthusiast to join our retail and phone sales staff.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

A fierce commitment to customer service, knowledge of and passion for Apple products, an understanding of the digital lifestyle, and keen attention to detail.

Strong writing skills are a must as we use email to correspond with customers daily, and Saturday availability and a flexible schedule are necessary.
