Overview

If you have an Apple PowerMac G4 tower, early PowerMac G5 tower, or G4 cube with an ADC video port, but want to use a flat-panel monitor that has a regular DVI cable, then this is the adapter for you.

If you have an older Apple LCD display that you want to connect to a PowerMac G5, Mac Pro, Apple PowerBook, MacBook Pro, or even PC with a DVI port, than you need the Apple DVI to ADC adapter (click here to see this.)

Most of Apple’s desktop PowerMacs produced from 2000 to 2005 featured video cards with Apple’s proprietary ADC connector. The ADC connector was a good idea at the time, but is not compatible with newer (and less expensive) LCD monitors. You can read more about Apple’s ADC video port by clicking here.
