Overview

Mini DisplayPort to DVI Adapter

Every Mac with a Mini DisplayPort allows you to connect an external display or projector using an adapter. You can use an external display as your main workspace or to extend your desktop, or you can work in mirrored mode with a projector so you can view what your audience sees.

Use the Mini DisplayPort to DVI Adapter to connect an advanced digital monitor, such as the 20- or 23-inch Apple Cinema Display, that includes a DVI connector. Review the documentation or check with the manufacturer of your monitor to make sure you’re choosing the right adapter.

Compatible only with Mac computers with Mini DisplayPort.

Although a bit pricey - it's worth every penny! This little dohickey allows me to hook my MacBook to my Samsung flat screen TV (I also had to purchase a HDMI to DVI cable - much cheaper on Small Dog's site than other places) - all together it was around $50 bucks for the two cables. But this way all of the movies I bought on iTunes - I dont have to watch on the 13" screen, I can watch it on the 60" Samsung! Disney's Cars is a great movie - just rented it on the ol'iTunes!

This Apple Adapter works great, it allows me to display the images on my Laptop onto an external monitor or a TV. This adapters works on all the current generation Aluminum Mac's.

Here's the bottom line - there's one way to plug you new mac into a DVI connection, and this is it. The adapter converts Mini DisplayPort (on your mac) to the more widely used DVI connection )on your external monitor, TV, projector, etc). Please do not mix this up with the Mini DisplayPort to VGA adapter (vga is the blue connection that is slightly smaller, used more for old CRT monitors or LCD projectors)
