Overview

Mini DisplayPort to VGA Adapter

The Mini DisplayPort to VGA Adapter lets you connect a standard analog monitor, projector, or LCD that uses a VGA connector or cable to a MacBook, MacBook Pro, or MacBook Air with a Mini DisplayPort.

The new MacBook, MacBook Pro, and MacBook Air each have a Mini DisplayPort that allows you to connect an external display or projector using an adapter. You can use an external display as your main workspace or to extend your desktop, or you can work in mirrored mode with a projector so you can view what your audience sees.

Use the Mini DisplayPort to VGA Adapter to connect your MacBook, MacBook Pro, or MacBook Air to a standard analog monitor, projector, or LCD that uses a VGA connector or cable. Review the documentation or check with the manufacturer of your monitor to make sure you’re choosing the right adapter.

Currently only compatible with MacBook, MacBook Pro, and MacBook Air with Mini DisplayPort.

VGA is pretty dependable if you want to connect a computer to an HDTV or a projector. If you have a new MacBook or MacBook Pro, you've got Mini displayport. In order to output video to one of the aforementioned displays, you often have options, but while the Mini displayport to DVI adapter may give you better video quality, this minidisplayport to VGA adapter will most likely suit your needs for making a presentation or watching a slideshow (or anything else that would otherwise be on your built-in display).
